LINDA LONGACRE Obituary

LONGACRE Please Sign the Guestbook @ Jacksonville.com Linda Longacre of Jacksonville, Florida passed away peacefully at home on October 11, 2012, surrounded by her family. She was 71 years old. Beloved wife of Tom Longacre for 51 years, she is also survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mike & JoAnne Longacre of Knoxville, Tennessee; her daughter and son-in-law, Steve & Karen Shackles of Dillon, Colorado; her grandson and his wife, Jesse & Jenni Lynn Longacre, and great-grandson Jeshua Michael Longacre, of Post Falls, Idaho; and siblings Cheryl Streeter, Robert O'Neill, Tommy Griswold, Terry Griswold, Gary Griswold, and Susan Tracy. Linda is remembered for her bright smile, warm hugs, kindness, hospitality, and wisdom. Her greatest joy came from sharing her faith with others, and she was a zealous volunteer Bible teacher for 50 years. Words cannot express how much she will be missed - precious wife, mother, and friend. She would remind all to be comforted by God's promise of the resurrection, in which she had unwavering faith, that the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear [Jesus'] voice and come out. ~ (John 5:28, 29) A memorial service for Linda will be held on Saturday, October 27, at 6:00 PM, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 8368 Collins Road, Jacksonville, Florida.

I will always remember her smile until I see her again. Sleep overs at her house were the best, I still remember how calm she would be when we "girls" would get too noisy. She would come and say "Now Girls we need to keep in down because Tom is trying to sleep" I know she was trying to be stern, but she just didn't have a mean bone in her body. To all of the Longacre family, I am so sorry for your loss of someone so special. I will keep you in my prayers, because I know that Jehovah is the only one who can fix your hearts that have been broken by her death. I look very forward to seeing her again and her once again surrounded by the people she loves.

October 20, 2012

She was a very kind, loving person and will be dearly missed. My family and I send our condolences to the entire Longacre family. We will miss her very much. (Isa. 26:19) Sincerely,
Dylan-Michael McKnight
