Loretta Young Brazil

BRAZIL Ms. Loretta Young Brazil passed away November 15, 2017. A Jacksonville native, she was educated in the local public schools, graduating from New Stanton Senior High School- Class of 1959. Furthering her studies, she attended Edward Waters College and Florida A&M University, graduating Magna Cum Laude earning her B.S. degree in Education. As one of Duval County's finest educators, Ms. Brazil rendered over 30 years of dedicated service until retiring. She is survived by her daughters, Ms. Bridget Brazil, Ms. Bonita B. Brazil and Ms. Beverly T. Brazil; grandchildren, Reginald J. Thomas, Jr., Mrs. Angell Iles-Johnson (Damon), Robert L. Gooden, Jr., Ms. Kassidy C. Hamilton, Ms. Marlesa M. Brazil, Andre C. Brazil and Andrea L. Brazil; 8 great-grandchildren; 5 brothers; 4 sisters; a number of other relatives and friends. FUNERAL Service for Ms. Loretta Young Brazil will be held 11 AM, Saturday, November 25, 2017 in Greater Grant Memorial A.M.E. Church, where she was a member of Usher Board #2 and Class #35, Rev. Tan C. Moss, Pastor. Ms. Brazil will rest in the mortuary for visitation FRIDAY from 5 PM until 7 PM(where the family will receive friends at 5) and Saturday at the church from 9 AM until the hour of service.
