Madelyn Huggins Obituary

HUGGINS Madelyn Nana Huggins, 90, passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2012. She was born February 22, 1922 in Wilmington, NC to the late Archie & Thelma (Dizor) Stone, Sr. Madelyn had lived in Jacksonville most of her life and retired from King Edward Cigar company after 32 years of service. She was a life time member of St. Elizabeth s Episcopal Church and served as Altar Guild Chair for over 42 years. Madelyn was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and will be dearly missed by all. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jack, of 55 years. Madelyn is survived by her son, Wayne Huggins (Beth); daughter, Linda Hargraves; grandchildren, Debra Revels (Dempsey), Ronnie Hargraves (Donna), Lisa Hugo (David), Kevin Huggins (Lynn), Brian Huggins (April); great grandchildren, Nicholas, Clayton, Ryan, Lindsay, Whitney, Caroline, Olivia, Shelby and a host of other relatives and friends. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, May 16 at 11am at St. Elizabeth s Episcopal Church, 1735 Leonid Road, Jacksonville, with Rev. Paul Smith and Rev. Michael Moore officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Elizabeth s Episcopal Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Cedar Bay Funeral Home, Jacksonville, 714-1110. Please accept our sincere sympathy for your loss.I got to know "Nana" from her coming to see Dr.Fernandes at UF,and she was such a unique and classy lady with a beautiful strong spirit! I know she had been through alot in her last few years,and is now resting in the peace and joy of the loving Saviour she served for all those years!
