I am writing this over 15 years after Mike´s passing. Mike was my cousin and more like a brother to me. He was my mentor and most of all my friend. I miss him terribly and want to cherish the good times.
Mike was a leader...several years ago I was on sales call at Winn Dixie headquarters in Jacksonville and my buyer there informed me that Mike was his high school basketball coach. He confessed to me the admiration, love and respect that each player had for Coach Kellam. I can only pass to Donna, Michael, Anna, Diane and the grandchildren that the sincerity of the love that Mike had friends, family and Jesus Christ will be forever be his legacy...

I would like to express my deepest sympathy to Mike's family. Mike was my salesman a few years ago when I purchased a new Blazer. The experience I expected to have when buying a car never materialized. He was a kind, gracious and above all, an honest man. He went above and beyond to make it a pleasant experience for me.
I am also an educator and he told me of his days working with DCPS. He spoke of his children and his love of golf that he never had time to play. He always made a point of coming out and speaking whenever I was there for an oil change. He was not the typical 'salesman'. He was one of a kind.
I didn't know your father very well, but I felt I needed to express to his family how rare an individual he was in this day and time.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Anna and Michael,
I was so sorry to learn of the death of your father. There are many wonderful memories that you can cherish. I remember each of you as little children and the efforts of Mike to be an active participant in your activities. He was quite creative with the "home movies" and your yearly vacations were a highlight. I know that you have a special place in your heart for those special times.
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of sadness.
May God Bless You.
My love to you!

So sorry about Mike's death. He was probably my oldest friend going back to our New Lisbon days. We were together almost every weekend. We are so glad we got to see and visit with Mike at Winifred's funeral. Although we hadn't seen each other since my Mom & Dad's (Midge & Evelyn Holbert) 50th wedding anniversary in Ft. Myers, FL, it was just like old times. Our deepest sympathy to all.

I am a retired Physical education
teacher. I don't know any of Mike's
family but want them to know what a fine young man I thought he was.
We did not work at the same school but spent a summer working on a new curriculum, we didn't know what we doing but had a good time. I know he will be sorely missed.
My sincere sympathy.
