Millard Dusenbury Obituary

DUSENBURY Millard R. Dusenbury passed away on April 23, 2010 at the age of 92. Born and raised in Brunswick, GA, he attended Glynn Academy and Georgia Tech earning a BS degree in Chemical Engineering. During his Tech years, he was a member of Sigma Chi and the Yellow Jacket Marching Band. Thirty-five years of his professional career were spent with Hercules, Inc. in both Wilmington, DE and Brunswick, GA. During WWII, he served as a Captain in the U.S. Army participating in the Mid-East, North African and Italian campaigns. Following his return to the U.S. he was the commander of the POW camp at Fort Rucker, AL. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Lorraine Rogers Dusenbury and youngest daughter, Patricia. He is survived by sons, Jay Dusenbury and wife Sue Swain of Half Moon Bay, CA, Reese Dusenbury and wife Susan of Jacksonville, FL and daughters Carolyn Wylder and husband John of Lake Oswego, OR, Judy Roehm and husband Ed of Fayetteville, GA, six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The family would like thank Community Hospice of N.E. Florida and recognize Health Director Cindy Giddens and all the staff at Sterling House for their loving care. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 2:00 PM, United Methodist Church, Jekyll Island, GA. The Rev. Roger Mays will officiate.
