Raymond Carmedelle Obituary

CARMEDELLE
Raymond Lee Carmedelle passed away on February 26, 2018 at the age of 92. His devotion to his wife and family and his steadfast belief in Jesus Christ supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace. Lee was blessed with a large and loving family. Born on October 5, 1925, he was a native of New Orleans, LA, and a veteran of World War II having served as a radio operator in the 6th Marine Division. He participated in the battle of Okinawa, and after the war was stationed in Tsingtao, China.
A Certified Public Accountant, he graduated from Jesuit High School in New Orleans and from Tulane University at the top of his class.
Lee is survived by his wife of 64 years, Guerlain; his four children Joan (Rick) Schlottmann, Bruce (Cathy) Carmedelle, Jeannie (Dan) Frey, Paul (Barbara) Carmedelle, his nine grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Visitation with the Family is Thursday, March 1 at 3:30 pm, Mass of Christian Burial at 4:00 pm in the Marian Center, St. Joseph Catholic Church, 11757 Old Saint Augustine Rd, Jacksonville. Lee will be laid to rest at the Jacksonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Hospice & Palliative Care at www.communityhospice.com/give.
