Dad,
Wow, what a year it has been. I never in a million years thought that I would have spent my first Thanksgiving, Christmas, Fathers day and birthday without you at such a young age. I wish I could have one more opportunity to tell you how much I Love you and that I miss you. As I get older and experience new times in my life it is then that I realize what your feed back and "wisdom" in life meant to me. I know that you are looking over my shoulder and I want to let you know that I will continue life in a manner that will always make you proud!! I want to thank you for all the love, laughs, and memories you gave and left me with. I also want to thank you for helping place two wonderful gifts in my life. The best friend anyone could ask for in a life time!! My brother, your son, Rich and a wonderful, beautiful, smart and always opinionated, my sister, your daughter, Bethany! For this I will always love you!!
I miss you dearly dad! I will continue to be the man you always wanted me to be and I LOVE you!
I will see you again, God bless
Your son,
Joe Joe (aka.. Meatball)

Dear Bethany... As I was cleaning up some paperwork I came upon the notification of your father's passing. I offer you my sympathy for the loss of your Dad. He was truly a happy person and it reflected in the way he lived his life. He made so many people laugh and feel comfortable; he truly had special gifts. One of my special memories was the vacation cruise that we took together - what crazy fun!!! May you always remember his laughter; I'm sure he is smiling on you. Best wishes in your life...Debbie Imhoff Schlotzhauer

I was Rick's mother-in-law for many years, and I loved him like my own son. I could write a book of "Rick stories", each one of them precious to me,and when I need a cheering up or a good laugh I recall one of them. When Les and I visited Pam and Rick in Spain, it is a ytime I could never forget and the winters we spent in Florida were the best we ever had. Rick was such a loving and good father to Bethany and she loved him more than words could ever express. Rick, we miss you so much. Love you, Wilta XXHearn

I miss you now that you're gone. I miss you very much. I had no idea anyone could miss someone so much. I swim through past memories like a fish in the sea. But still no one will ever understand how much you meant to me. Life is so lonely without you in it. I cannot imagine life going on without your happy grin. The thought of you not being around to see the changes in my life and my growth just seems unbearable to me. I hope its true, what they all say, that you are up above watching over me, but I wish so bad that you could just be here with me. Everything I look at reminds me of your face...reminds me of the good times we had together. The memories I hope I can make last because these are the only things that will truly carry your spirit on...memories of you passed on and on. I love you dad, no matter what. Don't you ever forget that.

I am proud and honored that I got the opportunity to know Rick. He was a phenomenal human being who knew and understood the simple truths of life. I will sorely miss our political debates and his witty sense of humor. I will miss our shared Sunday paper, I will miss answering his computer questions. Most of all I will just miss his company which never had its dull moments.
I know he loved his daughter more any anything on this earth. Here is to an outstanding father and a truly great man.

We'll always remember Rick and all the fun he had out of life. I remember so plainly yet the 5th birthday party we had for Bethany with all the family and the theme was "THE LITTLE MERMAID". Bethany got a "slip n slide" for a present and we put it up in our back yard. Rick spent most of the afternoon having as much fun on it as the kids did - he could always make us laugh. The last time we spoke together was his marathon cell phone call to Bethany at her graduation party and he spent several hours talking to all the family. He was loved by all of us and will be missed.

I'm glad I had the pleasure of knowing Rick.He was such a fun loving person and always make you laugh. My family went to Florida in 1985 to visit with Pam and Rick.It was an enjoyable visit.I remember Pam and Rick visiting in Pilot Grove when Bethany was a baby. They spent a night with me. Rick made an omelette for breadfast.I had never seen as much put in one.I'll miss hearing his voice on the telephone and his Christmas greetings. My thoughts and prayers go to the Kogut Family.

I learned today on 9/11, as the world mourns this tragic day, the knowledge that I also share heartfelt sorrow and pain in the loss of a most dear friend, Rick Kogut. We shared so many wonderful memories in our early years in the Air Force while stationed in Spain together and we were the "Eurovillas" group all living next door to one another. Rick added so much joy and laughter to the neighborhood. I wish I had known sooner and talked to him again, but he will always hold a special place in my heart. I feel blessed to have known him.

Uncle Ricky,
I was so glad you could make it up here to see us in Montauk in July. We had a really nice visit, and that I always will remember. I will miss sending you jokes via e-mail, i know you really enjoyed them, but I know you are in a better place. Love, Karen, Richie, RoseMarie, and family.

My deepest sympathy to the entire Kogut family & friends. Rick aka Ricky was the funniest person I've ever known. He could always make me laugh, even on the not so good days. I can only speak for myself, but I do believe everyone will miss hearing his quite loud voice every Friday morning screaming..." IT'S FRIDAY, IS IT TIME TO GO YET?” Rick, I will miss you and you will NEVER be forgotten.

I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Rick. I had the great pleasure of working with Rick for four years at WRC. He brought so much laughter and happiness to our office! I will truly miss hearing Rick make fun of my driving skills and him racing me to the door everyday & yelling, "HEY RECEE, YA HEAR THIS." and he would slam the door. I will also miss hearing him on the phone doing "repo calls" and arguing with the debtors as everyone knows Rick had to have the last word! Rick was such a riot! All in all, my thoughts and prayers are with you....

As we gathered to say good-bye to you, I wanted to say a word or two.
I couldn't get myself together as the tears filled my eyes with sorrow.
I wanted to say thank-you for some of the best years of my life. I wanted to say thank-you, yes me, your wife.
Although we eventually had to part ways, we remained best friends, after all these days.
I love you, Richard T. and I am sure the angels will never, ever let you be.
I wanted to say thank-you for the most precious gift you ever gave to me, the gift of a new life we call, "Bethany".
You made this world a better place to be and you will never, ever be forgotten, Mr. Richard T.
WE LOVE YOU.
