For some reason I suddenly thought about Robert Belcher out of the blue. I decided to google him and found this. Worked with him at Cecil Field. As an Active Duty Sailor working with the civies there, Robert was just a nice guy to know and shoot the gab with. My condolences to his family.

Although I did not know him very long, Mr. Belcher was a great man. He raised a beautiful family and was very giving. I can't forget the conversations of "South Philly" and donald duck. Thanks for a great time in Jax and most of all thank you for raising one of the most beautiful and caring people I have ever met in my life. God has a new angel...

It was an honor to have known Robert Belcher, even though for just a short period, he leaves his impression. You will miss him, hold on to his memories, we know that he has found comfort in the arms of our FATHER and he will no longer suffer in pain. May GODS comfort keep all of you, an I hope you find peace within.
Yours truly,

It broke my heart to hear Mr. Belcher had passed away. For all that knew him, knew him to be a rare person who loved being around all firefighters. I can see him now in the fire house kitchen frying up chicken in his socks - he was a very special man. Man he could cook ! He enjoyed messing with all of our firefighters probably more than anyone else. He had a great sense of humor and a warmer heart. For those of you that didn't have the opportunity to know him you really missed something. As for me I am a far better man for having served with him. I will sorely miss him. May the healing power of the greatest firefighter who saved our souls from eternal fire, comfort and console you in this time of loss. Knowing full well we will see him again and I hope frying chicken in that celestial firehouse.

I would like to express symathy for your loss of Robert. I first met Mr. Belcher in 1988 when I started working with him at Cecil Field. He was a great guy and always had a smile on his face. He was always honest with you no matter what. We missed him when he left the fire dept, and he will be missed even more. Our Prayers are with your family. Jeff Harrell NAS FIre Dept.

There are no words that adequately express my sympathy for what all of you are going through. So much of our young lives were spent together (especially Man and I) and therefore much of my young life was spent around your dad. Although it is hard, I know, to hold back your sorrow, I hope you all find comfort in the knowledge that his suffering is over. You all are in my prayers and my heart.
No matter how much time passes, Still your sister,
Shirelle

While I am sorrowed of Robert’s “Going Home”, I rejoice for the happiness he must be experiencing in being with our Lord. Robert was a co-worker and friend of mine from the NAS Jacksonville Fire Department. He was a person who always performed to the best of his abilities to help improve the organization, and someone you could always depend on to be there to “watch your back” during emergencies we responded to together. Robert was honest, trustworthy, wise, dependable, and one who was humble about himself and his talents. I enjoyed talking with Robert about work and life knowing that he would always tell me like it was. During those times when we might have disagreed about something, Robert was always the gentleman being sure not to offend while at the same time being sure to get his opinion across. I know I have been blessed to have known Robert, and that I am a better person in my own life for having had him cross paths with my life. While I will continue to think of Robert often and miss those times we had together, I find comfort in the fact that I will see Robert again when it is time for me to go home. Family and Friends of Robert’s are in my prayers, and May God bless you all. While I will be out of the state during the time of Robert's services, I will be thinking of him and the family during that time. Paul Stewart, Fire Chief, NAS Jacksonville, FL (retired).

We celebrate with you in the home going of our friend and brother in Christ. He was a source of wisdom and strength to us both. As you go through these difficult days may you find comfort in the word of God."He giveth power to the faint and to them that have no might he increaseth strength." Isiah40:29
