Robert Laffan Obituary

LAFFAN Dr. Robert J. Laffan passed away October 10, 2007. He was born May 16, 1928 in New York, NY. Dr. Laffan was a Korean War Veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Bristol- Myers-Squibb after many years of service as a research scientist and manager. He was a member of San Juan del Rio Catholic Church and a member of Habitat for Humanity in West Virginia before moving to Jacksonville, FL in 2006. Dr. Laffan was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Dr. Laffan is survived by: his loving wife of 53 years, Maureen; son Robert "Bob" Laffan; daughters Anne (David) Wustrow, Sister Denise Laffan, and Kathleen Laffan; brother John (June) Laffan; sisters Doris Laffan, Grace Kimball, and Elizabeth (James) Doyle; and grandchildren John, Eric and Allison Wustrow and Caitlin and Ryan Laffan. The family will receive friends Friday, October 12, 2007 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens Mandarin Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, October 13, 2007 10:00 a.m. at San Juan del Rio Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Northeast Florida Community Hospice.
