Robert Poage Obituary

POAGE Robert Glenn Poage, 81, of Jacksonville, FL passed away Saturday, Aug. 26, 2006. He was born and raised in Tampa, FL, where he became an All-State basketball player for Plant High School. During WW II, he served in the Eighth Air Force 385 Bombardment Group. The University of Florida graduate and former Phi Delta Theta fraternity member retired from BellSouth after a 34 year career. He is survived by daughters Sheryl (Tom) of Jacksonville and Robin (Brendan) of St. Augustine, and grandchildren Alison, Emma, Noah, Ava and Olivia. A memorial service will be held at 5 pm, Wednesday, Sept. 6, at St. Paul's By the Sea, 465 11th Ave. N., Jacksonville Beach 32250. Funeral arrangements by GREENLAWN FUNERAL HOME. It was a privilege to take care of your father. He was so much like my own, who passed years ago. The resembliance of the two was remarkable. My deepest sympathy to you and your family. He was a wonderful patient and much loved by myself and others at cypress village

We were so happy to finally meet Uncle Bob, Sherly, Allison and Emma a few years ago when we visited Florida. Our condolences to your family during this time of sorrow.
