I just saw a television special on this sweet girl and can't imagine the anguish and grief your family must have gone through and now must live with. She was a beautiful trusting child with a pure heart. May you find peace and love in her memories. I'm so sorry.

For the last few days, I have been praying for her mother and her family that God will give them the strength and comfort to get through this difficult day. Though I didn't know the Thompson family, I too had to bury my daughter at the age of 6 1/2 months old due to a heart defect, I feel your pain about losing a child, from day one my family & I watch the news hoping for her safe return and when we learned she was found it broke my heart in two.

Just knowing that Somer is up in heaven no longer hurting please take comfort into knowing she is playing with the other children that are up there. She is with jesus as is my daughter AudryAunna and i am sure they are singing YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE as thats what I use to sing to my daughter also. I pray that you find comfort and peace.. although you will NEVER get over losing your daughter.

In loving memory of Somer Renee Thompson!!

Just want you to know that you are continuously in our thoughts and prayers on this painful and difficult path that you were forcefully put on. You have touched many lives with your bravery, strength and compassion....as your daughter has touched us all with her beautiful smile. I know you don't feel brave or strong, but with all those behind you, one day it will be easier...the pain will never end, but hopefully one day you will be able to sing her song without pain, but joy. Joy for her life. The love she gave, and the beautiful mem'ries she left you. Please know i am always here if you need someone, (i know you have a plethora of offers, but i want you to know that mine is here too).

Peace, strength and blessings, Diena, to you and your beautiful children.

Love,

Thinking of this little child everyday who has touched my heart even though I never met her. So tragic and sad that someone could hurt a child in any way. My prayers are with Somer's family and just know that God will comfort you and ease your pain as time goes by. Your baby is with the Lord and he is embracing her in his arms and love, just as he will your heart as it heals. God Bless you and Somer. Always in my heart.

Dear Thompson Family,
Just know that you are in our thoughts and prayers everyday. We pray that peace and comfort takes hold of you and never lets go. Somer and Maddie are not where we want them but I know that this is not up to us. Somer and Maddie were given to us as gifts for only a short period of time, and I hope you will find it easier with time, as I have, to thank our creator for the gift of their lives. I would like to talk with you soon. Please allow me to try and help you and your family with what you are going through. Please give us that chance.

Sincerly, Sheila Clifton DeLongis & Jessica Clifton.

February 12, 2010

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

May GOD be holding your hand every step of the way and shining rays to your family; rays of hope, rays of light and rays of solace. Thank you for your courage to come down to earth and be a mystic traveler, for you have changed the worlds heart in doing so. And although we can never experience negativity without negativity, it still hurts. Through your bravery, our world shall become a better place. You truly are "Proof Of An Angel". Thank you for your precious gift you have given us, the gift of your life you have spent here on earth and for the cause that you have given it for. May the world now see it is time to change.

May God comfort your family, and may you find comfort in this poem I wrote for you.

Baby Angels

Close your eyes
and imagine me....
for, in your heart
I shall always be

God chooses special ones
and gifts them tiny wings
where in heaven, voices rise
in lullabies, each Angel sings.

I'm not sure why,
but God always has His plans,
when little Baby Angels
are cradled in his hands.

Though, I was taken far too soon
patiently I'll wait....
for, I know someday
we'll meet at heaven's gate.

My prayers go out to you. I can feel your pain as I saw you on tv. I lost my husband at 35, but I know it's not the same as losing a sweet child. Please know and have comfort, that she is in the arms of the Lord now. She is playing with the angels in heaven and is looking down on you and smiling.

She is smiling for having such a wonderful mom and family. You gave here a great life and when your ready you'll smile too.

I pray for God to rush down and strengthen you, comfort you and embrace you with his love and PEACE. By losing my husband, I CAN tell you it is only through God I have found the strength to make it each day. FOR REAL.

We don't know why things like this happens, life is hard and has many trials. But, not matter what God is good and loves you. He is here for you.

Always in my prayers

Submitted before and see many other entries quoting certain items...hoping Somer's family gets this message...

As a mother, I was devastated for Diena and turned to a book I purchased for a friend who also lost a child. The book is by David W. Wiersbe - GONE BUT NOT LOST, Grieving the Death of a Child. (copyrighted 1992 by Baker Books) I highly recommend it to those who need comfort during times like this. There are many scriptures which we can refer to and rely on. The mourners creed spoke deeply to me and hopefully to others...

it is "I believe!"

I believe God's promises are true.
I believe heaven is real.
I believe I will see my child again.
I believe God will see me through.
I believe nothing can separate me from God's love.
I believe God has work for me to do.

As we all know, we have much work to do so we can see justice brought for Somer and her family. I cannot imagine the loss of my child even though she is now 29. I struggle with my mother's death which happened about 1 year ago and yet am thankful for her release from pain. And I realize there is much work I can do to help others cope with their pain and in doing so gain peace for myself as well. Diena, you are in my thoughts and prayers daily. We may not see justice on this earth as we wish but it will be served in the Lord's time. It's impossible to understand but the Lord assures us in Romans 8:28
"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." We cannot begin to understand today but one day we will. And we know Somer is in our beloved Lord's presence and nothing can compare. We must be strong for the work He has for us here on this earth. God Bless You and Grant You the comfort only He can give. The pain will never go away but He will get you through.

And we will

Your beauty, innocents and sweetness is ours to cherish
and we will.
You are my sunshine, your favorite song is ours to cherish
and we will.
Sorrow, pain, and darkness overflow the soul, yet from this
valley of blackness swaddle in Gods arms we can live on
and we will.
As eagles with wings spread soar to lofty heights, your
memory will lift and fill our lives with reasons to celebrate
and we will.
Yet, there is work to be done, a story to tell, other innocent
lives to save, this is our mission a testament in your name
and we will.
The statement “we’re coming for you” shall not fade when
this chapter ends; someone needs to echo this phrase often
and we will.
The color purple, a dance with no rhythm is ours to cherish
and we will.
Your smile, your laugh and friendship is ours to cherish
and we will.
Somer Thompson lives, in our hearts in our soul, in heaven
and she always will.

Dedicated to the little girl I never knew, who has touched my heart forever ~

Beautiful little girl
With the big, brown eyes
No longer in this World
Such an unwelcome surprise

Your smile we will miss
Like your laughter in the air
How we long for one last kiss
Just to show you we care

Too short was your stay
Still you filled us with glee
We’re sad you’ve gone away
Yet we know you are free

Hearts connected through love
A bond that no one can sever
Sweet angel up above
We shall forget you never

I watched Somer's mother, Diena's interview and cried, cried, cried. The sweet face of your little girl was painful. My prayer is that you, somehow, can make it through. Oh, how I pray that this "It" is found.

I am sorry for your pain. This is all I can offer. May peace find you in the future.

We thought of you with love today, But that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday, and days before that too.
We think about you in silience, We often speak your name.
Now all we have is memories, and your picture in a frame.
Your memory is our keepsake.
Which will never part.
God has you in his keeping, We have you in our hearts.

Summer is gone, I shall not weep,
Oak leaves fall, with roots dug deep,
Birds flying South, suns warmth to seek;
Somer is gone, tears flow, a creek.

Another angel watching over us from Heavens windows. The family especially the mother would rather have her here but she will not be sick, hurt or old. I pray who did this will be caught and be punished to the full extent of law. Why would any one want to hurt a child is a mystery to me. God will answer our prayers in due time.

I pray for strength for your family now and for the future. I'm a single mom, have a daughter who is seven, whose name is Summer too. I cannot imagine what you all are going through but know that there really are people in this world that are good, who care; some things can't be answered but I know she knew that you loved her. I have never met your family but you have touched me in more ways than you know. Trust in the Lord and He will be there for you. Bless your family during this tragedy.
