It’s been a few days since I first heard this of this tragedy,
And I am still not sure if I have been able to come up with
the word’s to express how I feel.
Steve and I grew up together after I moved to oceanway
In 1970. We spent many years doing the things that kids do.
As the years went by and we became adults, we were not
Able to spend as much time together but we did manage to
Stay in touch. Steve had stopped by the house a few weeks ago
and we spoke then about how it would be good to get together
to spend some time, but even that morning he was on his way to
work and could not stay long.
Steve was very special to me and the rest of my family and will be forever missed.
To Mr.& Mrs. Shinn, his brother Johnny, Robyn, and his children I can only offer my deepest sympathy for you loss

We've grown up but I always had a special place in my heart for him. He was a wonderful young man and I will always remember his spirit. I feel so badly for his parents, Robyn and his sons. Try to remember he loved you all very much. love to you all, Sharon

I am so sorry for your family's loss. I know Trei and Matt from their work with Integrity Home Health Care in Ocala; their good nature, sense of humor and willingness to help anyone always impressed me. And while I did not know their Dad, I believe they stand as a strong testament to their father and their family.

The last time I saw Steve it cost me 250.00. The time before that it cost me 150.00 although he said that his fee was only 100.00 for that particular visit. He was always worth more than he estimated.
He used to make long distant visits to my Mothers house (Olustee,Fla.) Yet Steve never charged her more than a local call as a matter of fact one of the last times I talked to Steve he said he would have gone through HELL!!! for My Mother which was a claim that I wasn't quite sure that even I would have made but that's just how much Steve was able to Love others. And the Bennett family will surely miss Steve.

May God Bless You All!

Dear Shinn Family, Please know that you are held in my thoughts & prayers. Steve has always been one who I counted as a true friend although we have not maintained close contact. From 4th grade at Victory to riding to high school together, we always had a good time. We were able to restablish a friendship when our kids were in Sheffield together, and I am truly sorry we lost contact again. Steve was a nice little boy who grew up to be the best kind of man. May the Lord be with you.

Whats up pop. Not too long ago you taught me to throw a ball. You told me to put a sock on my chin strap so it didn't scratch my chin. You used to bring home a huge bag of oysters and we'd eat them til' we got sick to our stomachs. Hide and go seek, the go carts and motorcycle, playing lasertag in the house in our underwear, these are just a few of the memories I have of you. Hold your own up there dad, we'll be in touch. bye i love you

Robyn and family,
My heart felt thoughts and prayes go to you and your family. Having just lost my husband in April I do know the pain you are feeling. I first met Steve when my husband's (Herb Payne) radiator shop sponsored our son's t-ball team, I think it was the Bears. Herb knew Steve long before and we stayed in touch over the years through the Gambles and the radiator shop. Steve was a great person, always willing to lend a hand. He will truely be missed.

I first met Steve at Victory Christian Academy when we were in about 4th or 5th grade. He was always the class clown and always made us laugh. Then, when my son started playing baseball, I had the pleasure of running into Steve again when he coached my son. Steve was a wonderful, caring person, and this is a huge loss. May God bless the family and my thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Shinn Family:
My friendship started in the seventh grade at Victory Christian with this special friend. There are people that are put in your life over the years some you may rememeber fondly others may just pass by and then there is STEVE SHINN. A friend that you will never forget. A friend no matter how many months or even years you may not see him but, when you did it was always like being in seventh grade again. I had that blessing however, of seeing Steve often infact two weeks ago I seen him leaving Eddie Gambles house and I am so very glad I was one of the lucky friends who over the years was able to visit with him. I will miss your smile and your unconditional ways that made you special. May ALL your family find peace during this time.
