Thomas Guglielmo Obituary

GUGLIELMO Please Sign the Guestbook @ Jacksonville.com Thomas Kenneth Guglielmo died peacefully surrounded by family on January 26, 2012 due to complications from leukemia. Tom was born in Passaic, New Jersey in 1938, to Thomas and Marion Guglielmo. A graduate of Pope Pius XII Diocesan High School, Mount Saint Marys University in Emmitsburg, Maryland and the University of Maryland Dental School, Tom married his high school sweetheart Carol Marie Mondell in 1961. Following graduation from Dental School, he served as a Captain in the United States Air Force in Biloxi, Mississippi until 1966. Afterwards, Tom and Carol settled in the town of Fanwood, New Jersey and opened a family dentistry practice. During the 1960s, Tom and Carol gave birth to three children and enjoyed many happy memories in Fanwood and at their beach house in Lavallette, New Jersey. Tom was an active member within the local community serving in various leadership roles. He served as President of both the Fanwood Board of Health and local chapter of the Rotary Foundation. Tom was recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow for his significant contributions within Rotary. In addition, he participated as coach and mentor to hundreds of children in the Fanwood area. Tom often put service above self. He was especially proud of his family which included his wife Carol; daughter Mary Grace and husband Allan Kosloski; oldest son Thomas Gerard Guglielmo and wife Susanne; and youngest son James Kenneth Guglielmo and wife Stephanie. His loving grandchildren include Kristina and Brad Kosloski; T.J., Michael and Jeffrey Guglielmo; and Annie, Emma and James Guglielmo. Tom and Carol retired to Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida in Sawgrass Country Club to be closer to family members where they pursued their love of golf and coastal living. Tom continued to serve in the local community and enjoyed spending time with friends and loved ones.
