VASSIE KELLY

KELLY Mrs. Vassie Lee Kelly (Mother Kelly) passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 5, 2011. She was born on September 17, 1934, in Sandersville, GA to the late Clinton and Mattie Will Reeves. Mrs. Kelly moved to Jacksonville, FL where she met and married L.J. Kelly. She was a faithful member of Gospel Temple Church of God in Christ where she served on the Mother's Board. Mrs. Kelly leaves a loving family to cherish her memory. Her husband, L. J. Kelly of 53 years; 5 daughters, Diane J. Franklin (James), Jacquoline D. Burke (William), Joyce Y. Kelly, Sandra A. Mills, Linda M. Snow (Spain); 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Doretha Adams, Eula Mae Canty and Willie Mae McCoy; sisters-in-law, Ida Mae Shedd (Edward), Christine Reeves and Millie Reeves; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends, Gloria Bryant Rodgers and Rushie Bell Washington. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Summerville Baptist Church, Dr. James W. Henry, Pastor with Elder Lewis D. Vereen, Sr., officiating. Mrs. Kelly's family will receive friends on Friday at the funeral home from 5pm until 7 pm. She will rest at the church from 9 am until hour of service. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
