Walter Reynolds Obituary

REYNOLDS Walter Louis Reynolds, 82, of Jacksonville, passed away Saturday, November 28 at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville. The sixth of eleven children of Joseph Aaron and Hallie Pearl Reynolds, Louis was born June 11, 1927 in Owensboro, Kentucky. He had resided in Jacksonville since 1944 during which time he worked as an Ironworker and as a Boilermaker with Local 199. An entrepreneur, Louie, as most people called him, owned and operated Big Tree RV Park in north Jacksonville until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church in Callahan. He loved music and sharing the joy he derived from it with others among whom there was never a stranger. Above all else he loved being Granddad and Great Granddad. He is survived by three brothers, Joe, Ellis, and Kenneth and by one sister, 'Billie.' He leaves behind his wife and soulmate of 61 years Mary Frances, a daughter Linda (Bob) of St. Augustine, a son Walter (Marilyn) of Jacksonville, a son David (Patricia) of Hilliard, 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and countless friends. Louie's family and friends made him feel like 'Lucky Louie' and wealthy beyond measure, and the legacy of life skills and lessons he leaves behind for all of them is a great inheritance. The viewing will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Both services will be held at Our Lady of Consolation Catholic Church in Callahan with Father Ralph Besendorfer the celebrant. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made in his name to the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Nassau Funeral Home. 904-879-1770. Condolences may be expressed by signing the guest book at www.nassaufh.com Please Sign the Guestbook @ Jacksonville.com
