Wow...I did not know Wilbur had passed on. He and I went to Forest Park Elem together a little over 50 years ago. I often thought about him over the years. Tonight he came to mind and I googled his name. I always remembered him but didnt know he attended Ribault. My family moved from the Westside back in the late 60s! I am so sorry to know that he is no longer with us in the flesh.
I lost my younger sister on 8/25/15 she would have been 54 on 9/5/15. She left a husband of 30 yrs, a daughter, son, and 2 grandchildren. She had been sick for 2.5 years from a crippling disease.
Merdice, I said all that to say you helped me to put into words how I feel sometimes about her leaving us. I know how you feel missing Wilbur! I too said, I should have spent more time with her back in the day! My heart goes out to you and your family. I wish I had looked him up long before now so I could have said hey elementary school buddy! It sounds like he lived a good and respectable life and that is good! I wish RIP could really mean RETURN IF POSSIBLE, although we know they would choose not. Rest in Peace Wilbur and as I remember you these days I pray that your family gets stronger day by day!

Rob, I miss you so much. It doesn't seem real. I experienced Dad and Mike's passing but it didn't hit me like this. Your transition has transformed my life in so many ways. Sometimes, I'm angry. Sometimes, I'm regretful at not sensing their wasn't much time left. Sometimes, I question everything. Sometimes, I'm just sad that you left us so young and I know you wanted to be here - you wanted to live. Sometimes, I muster a smile now. We did have some great memories. I'm trying to live a good life and help our family in any way that I can - trying to be the best me. I love you forever and will never let your memory go. Rest...

The days are still hard and we miss you so much. I just did not expect you to leave us when you did. I wish we had a chance to say goodbye but I'm so glad it was peaceful. Robbie, I still struggle to wrap my mind around you really being gone. It seems like just yesterday I was fighting with you about taking Niya to Winn Dixie, riding on the back of your chair. She still thinks you're the coolest uncle ever for that. Wings at Hooters, Neiman Marcus catalogs, Stan Smith Adidas, and Architectural Digest, will always make me think of you. There are so many good memories. Thank you for all that you did for my children. The countless trips to the store for treats and snacks were appreciated. They have fond memories of you.I will never forget the things you've done. Rob we will miss you.

My deepest sympathy is expressed to the entire Evans family. How well do I remember the elementary school days of the Evans children---A very close-knitted family. I would often see "Rob" in the store; he was always happy; never complaining, and would speak and hold a conversation with everyone he met. He will be greatly missed from the community.
