William Braddock Obituary

BRADDOCK William Ray Braddock, 89, passed away at his home Wednesday, October 27, 2004. Mr. Braddock was the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Thomas H. Braddock of Jacksonville. He was a life long resident of Jacksonville where he was a graduate of Jackson High School. After attending the U. of Georgia, he served in WWII as a 1st Lt. on duty with the U.S. Army in the Persian Gulf. Mr. Braddock as an insurance agent with Farm Bureau Insurance for many years although after his retirement he devoted his time and attention to tree farming. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville and was previously a member of Riverview Baptist Church, now Gardenview Baptist Church, where he was an active member, teacher and deacon. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Mozelle Waters Braddock; a daughter, Marsha (Vincent) Williams; a son, William (Phyllis) Braddock, Jr.; 4 sisters: Coralie Huntley, Libby (Frank) Richardson, Tommie Leonard & Jennie (Robert) Rowe; 1 brother, T.H. Braddock, Jr.; 2 grandchildren: Jonathan (Kirsten) Braddock & Jennifer (Duane) Whitmer; and 8 nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 30, at Gardenview Baptist Church with Rev. Calvin Carr of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville, officiating. Interment will be in Live Oak Cemetery, Callahan. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Friday (TODAY) at COREY-KERLIN FUNERAL HOME, 1426 Rowe Ave. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2131 Mango Place, Jacksonville, FL. 32207. To the Braddock Family,

I am so sorry to hear about Mr Braddock's home going...I loved him dearly...I use to work for him when he was Braddock-Westmoreland..He was such a gentleman...When he was in his 70's I use to tell him he was the best looking 70 year old I knew..He will be truly missed...I loved seeing him and Mrs Braddock at church..He would always come by and talk to me and my husband...I am praying for all you especially Mrs Braddock. I just found out about his passing this past week..I know he is in at home now..
