He was a wonderful man.

Today a good man has joined his wife in the hereafter. My grandfather, Pop, passed on. He had been sick, congestive heart failure, kidney infection, urinary tract infection and pnuemonia. He had it rough, but now is in a better place. He was a World War II hero and married a wonderful English woman and made a magnificent family. He was very craftsy and intelligent, always trying to make a new way to entice the mind to work in new ways. Little crafts to twitch the mind, really. He was good in the garden and always kept a clean house. When my Nana was sick, he took care of her till her dying day. I remember when I brought my oldest to see Nana near the end, he was so proud. When my mom and dad took care of him, I remember him coming to their tball games and cheering them on. We would visit him in the nursing home and he would love to watch the boys run around, remarking on how big they are and how smart they are. He made them cookies for Valentines day and a cute little piggy bank that will now sit on a shelf so we can remember him. We had such big plans for the new season for him to watch them since it would be warmer. Now he can watch no matter what and look down with his wife and smile in pride. He was a great man, and we are sad to see him gone, but happy he is in a better place and with his beloved wife. Please say a prayer for our family and wish him Godspeed on his final journey.

Bill and Karen, I envied and respected Pop for the life he led and the sacrifices he made. He will me missed.

Bill & Karen, I know how much you loved Pop and how much he loved you. Pop was such a sweet and gentle man. I know the last few years were hard on all of you and I know he was grateful for your love, kindness and continous presence. I am truly sorry for your loss.
