BRIAN EDGCOMB Obituary

Brian W. Edgcomb, 73, a lifelong resident of Knoxville, passed away at home on Tuesday, April 22, 2025. Born September 17, 1951, in Knoxville, he was the son of the late Robert R. and Hazel J. (Perry) Edgcomb. Brian graduated from Cowanesque Valley High School, Class of 1969 and received his bachelor's degree from Mansfield University in 1973. He married Cheryl E. Bowman, and they have shared 50 years together.
Brian was well known in the county for his time as a probation and parole officer, Tioga County Commissioner, Deputy Fish Commissioner and as the Tioga County Elkland Magisterial District Judge for 14 years. He was very active in the community; serving as the Chairman of Deerfield Charitable Trust, CV Alumni Association member, Past Master of the Masonic Lodge, former member of the River Valley Country Club, Troop 22 Eagle Scout, and was very active with the recovery community.
Brian was an avid coin collector, Buffalo Bills fan, and yard sale shopper. He enjoyed the outdoors; hunting and fishing, making many fishing memories with his friends and family at the Poplars in Canada over the last 40 years. Most of all, Brian loved spending time with his family and watching all his grandchildren's sporting or school events.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; daughter, Shannon and Dave Kemp of Knoxville; son, Jim and Michelle Edgcomb of Tioga; grandchildren, Christian, Coen, Carsyn and Carrigan Kemp and Jackson and Jameson Edgcomb; his sister, Donna and Doug Kosa of Ulysses; brothers and sisters-in-law, Konrad and Lois Gwynne Maiwald, Judy Middleton, Chris Wagner and Tim Wagner and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved granddogs, Jesse and Maisy. An open house Celebration of Brian's Life will be held at the Knoxville Community Center on Saturday, May 3, from 1 – 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Brian's honor to Deerfield Charitable Trust, P O Box 166, Knoxville, PA 16928-0166.
