GENE MAKIN Obituary

Gene T. Makin, 84, of Wellsboro, passed away at home early March 2, 2024.
He was born November 21, 1939, in Wellsboro to Ernest and Velma (Wood) Makin.
He graduated from Wellsboro High School, served in the Army National Guard, and worked for GTE Osram in Wellsboro.
On November 21, 1974, Gene married Alma J. Mason, with whom he shared 39 years of marriage. Gene loved life and cherished his family.
Gene is survived by three sons: Bill Makin of Interlachen, Fla., Charles Kemp of Erie, and Randy Mason of South Carolina; two daughters: Gloria (Dennis) Hall of Wellsboro and Jamie Barnes of Mansfield; a daughter-in-law: Toni Makin of Wellsboro; 20 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren (and a 27th on the way); three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a son: Steven Makin, a twin brother: Jerry Makin, a brother: Robert Makin; and his sisters Dorothy Mosher and Arlene Ames.
In accordance with Gene's wishes his arrangements have been entrusted to the Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, 139 Main Street, Wellsboro, and there will be no public services. To share a memory or condolence with his family visit www.tusseymosher.com.
