He also played semi-pro basketball with the Mansfield Ravens and football at Alfred University after high school and is one of the first inductees of the Tioga County Sports Hall of Fame. But his real interests were playing golf at Corey Creek where he was club champion a number of times over his many years as a member.

I remember the Tomlinson family in Mansfield well. My Mom Ruby Dyke was a good friend of Georges' mother Reva, I was only a young child during WWll but remember going often to their home to play with all the kids there. One of the things that stand in my mind and I think I was maybe 6 at the time. My Mom got the Telegram about my Fathers death and went right away to her friends house so my brother and I would be with friends. Sorry for the loss of George and my condolences to the Tomlinson family. Jean Dyke Kinney Danielsville, Ga [email protected]

Uncle George - you will surely be missed by many, but most definitely by me. Who will i spar with now? I've had so much fun the past few years picking and joking with you. I will carry on the tradition of George-ing it from 50 yards away with your putter and being proud of the nickname George-ette you gave me because of it! You have finally made it to the ultimate golf course, but when you golf with God, remember to not be too grumpy, don't hit into him, and you might want to let him win once in a while! I will truly miss you Uncle George and will think of you every time I golf with your putter and every time I am at Corey Creek, as you will always be an important part of the Crik!!!!
