JUNE L. WILCOX

1938 - 2021

June L. (Thurston) Wilcox, 83, of Liberty, passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec. 3, 2021 with family by her side at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre.
Born June 11, 1938, in Morristown, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Edward and Lousie (Gurnee) Thurston.
June was a member of the Sullivan State Road Baptist Church in Mainesburg for most of her life, and served many years with Southern Tioga School District as a teacher's aide. She was a member of the Arnot Sportsman's Club and enjoyed hunting and trapping in her younger years. She also loved flowers, all animals and spending time with her family and life partner of over 30 years, John Henry Adams.
June's kindhearted and compassionate nature will be missed by all, including all the newborn babies who did, and would have, received one of her many crocheted baby blankets.
Left to cherish her memory are her life partner, John Henry Adams, of Liberty; children, Julie Davenport, of Osceola, and Jesse (Carol) Lanterman, of Florida; grandchildren, Jessica Davenport (Josiah Stephen), of Wellsboro and Dustin Lanterman, of Albany, N.Y.; brother, Edward (Janice) Thurston, of Port Crane, N.Y.; nephews, Chris and Aaron and many dear friends.
In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her late husband, Robert Wilcox in 1985.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in June's name to the Sullivan State Road Baptist Church, 1600 Old State Road, Mainesburg, PA 16932.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, Dec. 8 from 11 a.m. until 12 noon at Wilston Funeral Home, 130 S. Main Street, Mansfield.
June's funeral service will immediately follow the viewing hour at 12 noon with Pastor Sherri Butters officiating. She will be laid to rest in the State Road Cemetery, Mainesburg, www.wilstonfh.com.
