KATHERINE BRENNAN Obituary
She is the loving mother of Max, Ian and Maggie; wife of nearly 26 years to Adam; daughter of Max and Judy Nagel of Valparaiso, Ind. sister to Suzie Nagel-Bennett of Kalamazoo, Mich.; aunt to 11 nephews, nine nieces, five great-nephews and 13 grea-nieces. She is survived by all these, as well as five brothers-in-law, Mike, Mark, Jon, Stephen, Kevin; two sisters-in-law,Lori, Terri; and her mother-in-law (Darlene).
A gifted musician, Katie was a music teacher in Wellsboro, for the past 20 years, working for Hamilton Gibson Productions as a choir director, Trinity Lutheran Church as an elementary music teacher and as organist and cantor at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Prior to her time in Pennsylvania, Katie taught at Kankakee Valley High School in Wheatfield, Ind. and Liberty Schools in Illinois. She touched countless lives through her teaching and music and brought joy and love to all she encountered. She earned an undergraduate degree in music education from Valparaiso University and a Master's degree in Music Education from the University of Minnesota. Scholarships will be established in her memory and name at Trinity Lutheran School and Hamilton Gibson Productions, both in Wellsboro. Donations to these funds will be gladly accepted and will provide assistance to children and young adults in two areas that Katie believed in most: Christian education and music.
Visitation will be at Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, "A Life Celebration Home," 139 Main St., Wellsboro, Wednesday, July 1, from 6 to 8 p.m., and Thursday, July 2, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 3, at St. Peter's Church in Wellsboro, at 10 a.m., with the Rev. David Bechtel and the Rev. John Chmil officiating. Special music will precede the service, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

There are no words to express how sad I am to consider a world without Katie in it. I have a lot of memories of laughter, long talks, and travels together, back when we were young. I treasure those memories. My best wishes for strong memories to the Brennan children and Adam. Rely on those.

You know Adam, I think we were lighting a candle at St. Patrick;s, Ireland at about the same time Katie passed. With Andy, I felt a strong sweetness and some sorrow as we rhought of her. With the 6 hour time difference I think Katie was winging through St. Pat's on her way home, Bless God~

Dear Brennan Family,
I was a classmate of Katie's in high school, at Valparaiso High. Katie and I sat in the same row - she played the flute, and I tried to play the flute. I can see that her smile, and therefore her heart, has only grown over the years since high school. Her wings will shield you from all that you need to be protected from as soon as she unfurls them and stretches them wide. Give her some time to get used to those new wings - they are HUGE, and she needs a little time to practice. May the arms of your community and your family protect you until Katie's wings blow breezes on hot summer nights, lift snowflakes on cold winter days, and shelter you from all that you think you cannot bear without her. She is there, and she will always be there to help you find a way to stretch your own wings.

Katie and I were good friends for many years while our children were very young.She was an amazing mother to Max, Ian and Maggie. She was always there for me and my three children, Serena, Gabe and Daniel.
