ROBERT WALKER Obituary
Known widely for his entertaining, educating and enlivening jug band, Sadie Green Sales, he started his journey in England on another downbeat, the cusp of WW11.
He arrived in North America as a teenager in the mid 1950's, following his father and stepmother as they pursued business opportunities in Canada. When his parents decided to decamp and return to England, he set off instead for California. Arriving in the San Francisco Bay area, he met, and married his first wife, Ann Nickerson, and their daughter Kimberley was born in 1960.
Adventures followed with time in Bozeman, Montana, and Aspen, Colorado where he met his music partner and jug band mentee David Driskell in 1969. There Timothy and David began a 56-year musical collaboration, including 44 years touring across the US, UK, and Europe as Sadie Green Sales.
In 1974 they were performing in a Denver night club where he was introduced to his wife, Martha, "Marty" Webb to whom he was married for 48 years.
Travels took him to Ski Sawmill where he purchased a cabin in Morris. Tioga County has now been home for many years where he acquired many fans and cherished friends.
The third born of Horace Leonard Walker and Marian Dudley Walker Connelly, he is preceded in death by his parents, his two older sisters Bridget "Bree" Walker Bennett, and Sally Walker; a niece, Joanna Ridlington. He is survived by his wife Martha "Marty" Webb Walker, and his daughter Kimberley "Kiki" Walker Nickerson, four grandchildren, two great-grands, younger sister Alison Connelly Robertson, 10 nieces and nephews, and four great nieces and nephews.
