ROGER VERNON SCHULTZ

1932 - 2021

Roger Vernon Schultz, 88, of Blossburg, passed away Friday, Jan. 22, at his home surrounded by several family members.
Roger was born Dec. 18, 1932 at the Blossburg Hospital in Blossburg.
On Sept. 10, 1955, Roger married Joyce Marlene Hemenway, who survives him at home.
Roger was a paratrooper in the United States Army from 1954-1956.
Roger lived a very full life and active life. He was a craftsman in carpentry and erected many local buildings in the community. He was an avid fisherman (he could catch a fish in a mud puddle). Roger was a detailed hobbyist with model aircraft and made his own fly fishing flies. Many Saturday and Sundays you could see him racing down the drag strip in his 1968 Plymouth GTX, "The Boss".
Roger was a family man of seven children and was loved by five generations.
He is survived by his children, Robert Schultz of Mansfield, Rhonda (Rick) Mosher of Tioga, Roxanne (Mark) Malone of Canton, Ryan (Karen) Schultz of Blossburg, Rebecca Schultz of Blossburg, Rex Schultz (Kim) of Spencer, N.Y., Rosalie (John) Heath of Gillett. He was loved by 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson.
He was predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Grace Schultz of Blossburg, his father and mother-in-law, Hess and Rosemarie Hemenway and his grandson, Jacob Malone.
A viewing and military service for family and friends was held at Grover Church of Christ on Wednesday, Jan. 27 from 10 a.m.–12 p.m. A service followed at noon. Interment is in Beech Flats Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at freebergfh.com.
