He was a tireless advocate for environmental causes in his community, especially climate action and zero waste. Terry contributed to initiatives such as the Leadership Institute for Ecology and the Economy, the Sustainable Enterprise Conference, Zero Waste Sonoma, and WeAct. His dedication was recognized with the prestigious "Sonoma County Zero Waste Champion" award in 2025.
Terry loved the outdoors-camping, scuba diving, spelunking-and had a lifelong love of basketball. He was known for his engaging storytelling, insatiable curiosity, and love for deep conversation. Whether reading every placard in a museum or following a dirt road just to see where it led, Terry approached life with curiosity and joy.
More than anything, he cherished the time spent with family and friends, creating memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

I'm saddened by the loss of my friend. I always enjoyed the times I spent with Terry on the Leadership for Economy and Environment BOD and with Zero Waste Sonoma walking Stony Point Road picking up trash. I've treasured talking with him and always wanted to talk with him more but we both have/had busy lives. Terry meant a lot to me and I will miss him.

I had the abiding privilege of knowing Terry from the first day I moved to Sonoma County. We were roommates in two houses, and always started our day together with coffee and laughter. I´m a better person for having known Terry and his family.

My heartfelt condolences go out to Kathy, Genevieve, Danielle, and the rest of his beloved family.
