Hartman
Mrs. Barbara A. Hartman, 85, formerly of South Avenue, Jim Thorpe, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2022, in the Mahoning Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Mahoning Township, where she resided. She was the widow of John T. Hartman Sr., who passed away in 1998.
Born in Mauch Chunk, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Naomi (Leonard) Swartz.
She was a graduate of Mauch Chunk High School.
She loved flea marketing.
Surviving are three sons, John, and his wife, Lucinda, Greg and Brian, and his wife, Heike, all of Jim Thorpe; a daughter Amy, wife of Lawrence Melnick of Tamaqua; a sister, Charlea Andreas of Jim Thorpe; eight grandchildren, Shawn Hartman, Mike Hartman, Kimberly McKeever, Cheryl Curran, Gregory Hartman, Crystal Duffy, Thomas Hartman and Ashley Hartman; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was also predeceased by a son, Robert "Boo."
Service: All services will be private. Arrangements by Melber Funeral Home, 524 Center St., Jim Thorpe. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to Carbon Co. Friends of Animals, 77 W. 13th St., Jim Thorpe, PA 18229.
