Barry Lee Hook

Barry

Lee Hook, 80, of Palmerton, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2025, in the St. Luke's Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township. He was the loving husband of Sandra Ruth (Meissner) Hook. They recently observed their 56th wedding anniversary in September.

Born on June 4, 1945, in Effort, he was the son of the late Joseph Hook and the late Mamie (Hawk) Hook.

Barry was a member of Jerusalem UCC, Trachsville.

Barry was a brick layer for many years, working for Roth & Ellis, Inc., and Bucks Development, and finishing his career with Eshbach Brothers. He later went on to work as a delivery man for Palmerton Auto Parts for several years.

Barry participated in Brace Beagling for 50 years and won the National Purina Brace Beagling Award with his dog, Romo, in 2011. He always enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Most of all, he was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Barry will be deeply missed by all his friends and family.

Surviving in addition to his widow are a son, Ryan Seth Hook, and his wife, Tanya, of Palmerton; three sisters, Grace, wife of Leonard Borger of Palmerton, Virgie Klopp of Fleetwood and Shirley Neff of Kunkletown; two grandchildren, Ruth Hook and Seth Hook, both of Palmerton; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Along with his parents, he was predeceased by four sisters, Betty Borger, Pauline Berger, Helen Christman and Nancy Shupp.
