Carol Polkowski Obituary
Carol L. Polkowski, 69, of Walnutport, formerly of Slatington, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025, in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest Campus, Salisbury Township.
She was the daughter of the late Harold R. and Alberta M. "Dolly" (Eck) Wertman.
She graduated from the former Slatington High School and went on to further her education in the medical field.
Carol was a coder for over 40 years for St. Luke's Health Network and the former Palmerton Hospital.
Previously, she was a member of a bowling league at the former Slate Bowl, Slatington, for numerous years.
Carol was the organist at Bethel UCC, Slatington, and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Slatedale.
The joy of her life was being with family and friends and her cats. She was an assistant manager at the former Curves, Walnutport.
Survivors include a son, Sean M. Polkowski, of Walnutport; a brother, Jeff Wertman, and his wife, Kim, of Walnutport; a nephew, Tyler Wertman of Allentown; a niece Kristin, wife of Vincent Hurst of Slatington; and cats, Bentley and Libby.
Services: Funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, Kevin E. Hunsicker Funeral Home, 4214 Main St., Slatedale, with Pastor Henry A. Distler Jr. officiating. Interment at convenience of family. Call 10-11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13. Contributions in her name may be made to Peaceable Kingdom, 1049 MacArthur Rd., Whitehall, PA 18052, or Citizens Fire Co. No. 1 Inc., P.O. Box 179, Slatedale, PA 18079.
