David Chapman Obituary
David R. "Chappy" Chapman, 67, of Lansford, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2022, in the St. Luke's Hospital, Miners Campus, Coaldale. He was the husband of Jayne (Rehrig) Chapman, sharing 46 years of marriage.
Born in Coal-dale and raised in Jim Thorpe, he was a son of the late Thomas A. and Agnes (Gehres) Chapman.
He was a retired tractor-trailer driver, working for many years. He loved his job as a truck driver, but an essential part of his life was riding his Harley.
He enjoyed NHRA Drag Racing and going to the Freemansburg Hill Climbs.
Surviving in addition to his widow are his children, Brian Rehrig of Jim Thorpe, David Chapman Jr., and his wife, Angela, and Stephanie Chapman, both of Nesquehoning, Nicole, wife of Edward Peel of Mahanoy City, and Becki, wife of Matt Bryfogle of Lehighton; siblings, Jane Corinchoc of Delano, Melvin Chapman of Tamaqua, Agnes Chapman of Berwick and Margaret Sasso, Billy Chapman, and his wife, Lisa, and Tom Chapman, and his wife, Erin, all of Jim Thorpe; 12 grandchildren; and his godson, Nico Modesto.
He was also predeceased by a granddaughter, Mia Rose Chapman.
Service: Interment, private. Call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, Edward F. Melber Funeral Home, 524 Center St., Jim Thorpe.
