Dawn L. Blocker

Dawn L. Blocker, 80, of Mahoning Twp., entered into eternal rest Thursday, April 18, 2024, in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Muhlenberg Campus.

She was the wife of the late Ronald L. "Butch" Blocker of whom she was married to for 37 years until his passing on July 4, 2010.

Born in Easton, she was a daughter of the late Robert E. and Pauline E. (Mengel) DeReamer.

She was employed as a secretary and treasurer for Mahoning Township for 25 years until retiring in 2009. She was also a former supervisor for Mahoning Township for 20 years.

She was a graduate of Lehighton High School Class of 1962. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lehighton, the Lehighton Lioness, and was a 4-H leader.

Dawn enjoyed going to the casino, playing cards with her card club, playing bingo and planting flowers around her home. You would often catch her sitting on her porch, enjoying her farm, and watching the hummingbirds.

She most enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She would often host family dinners where everyone enjoyed her excellent baking.

Surviving are daughters, Kimberly Hinkle and her husband David of Weatherly and Melissa "Missy" Blocker and her companion Paul Johnston of Lehighton; a sister, Eileen Bollinger and her husband Ronald of Palmerton; grandchildren Elise, Megan, Lindsey, Daniel, Nicole, Brittany, Ethan, Joel, and Tanner; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Zeller.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at 11 a.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. 3rd St., Lehighton with the Rev. Robert A. Von Frisch officiating. Interment will be held in Lehighton Cemetery. Call Wednesday morning, 9:30 to 11 a.m. in the church.
