Dennis Floyd Straiter
Dennis Floyd Straiter, 88, of Lehighton, entered into the presence of the Lord on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2025. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years, Nancy (Hoppes) Straiter.
Born in Sarver, Dennis was the son of the late James and Mary (Boyko) Straiter.
A graduate of Penn State University with a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Dennis went on to earn his master's degree in engineering from George Washington University. He retired from Apple after a successful sales career.
Dennis was devoted to his family and took great pride in supporting his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their education, sports, activities and accomplishments. With Nancy by his side, he created a home filled with faith, encouragement and laughter. He was known for his sharp wit, love of jokes and in fact, his favorite section of the Washington Post was the "funnies."
He and Nancy shared a deep love for travel, especially to the Caribbean, and enjoyed countless vacations with their five children. Their faith was the foundation of their lives, and they opened their home generously for church picnics, baptisms and fellowship gatherings. Dennis also served as PTA president while his children were at Rosemont Elementary School, a role that reflected his commitment to family and community.
Dennis and Nancy's legacy is one of faith, family, humor and hospitality. While he will be deeply missed, his family rejoices in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ and looks forward to the day they are reunited with him forever.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." - John 3:16

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:6-7 ESV
In addition to his beloved late wife of 61 years, Nancy (Hoppes) Straiter, he was predeceased by his sons, Timothy and Eric, and sister, Carole Galinat.
He is survived by his daughters Heidi Cerjan (Robert) and Kristin Campbell (Robert); his son Matthew (Diane); his cherished grandchildren, Kaitlin, Alissa, Jordan, Nathan, Brenden, Christopher, Meghan and Levi; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Joshua and Colin; and his dear companion of the past three years, Denise Klein.
