Dorothy M. Miller
Dorothy M. Miller, 79, of Kunkletown, died Saturday, Sept. 3, in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
Born in Eldred Township, she was a daughter of the late Clifford and Irene (Beer) Miller.
A 1954 graduate of the former Polk Township High School, Dorothy was the secretary and bookkeeper for M.F. Weiss Inc., Brodheadsville, for 37 years before retiring in 1991. She later worked in the Pleasant Valley School District for eight years, retiring in 1999.
She was a member of Jerusalem United Church of Christ, Trachsville, where she sang in the choir for 50 years and was also a past member and treasurer of the consistory.
Dorothy was a member of the Little Gap Grange, the Polk Twp. Fire Co. Auxiliary, the Kunkletown Fire Co. Auxiliary and the Towamensing Twp. Fire Co. Auxiliary.
There are no immediate survivors.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Alton Miller; and by a sister, Erma Miller.
Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, Jerusalem UCC, Trachsville, with the Rev. Kathryn Foster officiating. Interment, Jerusalem Lutheran Cemetery. Call 10-11 a.m. Thursday in the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Palmerton, PA 18071.
