Edna Paton Obituary
Edna R. Paton, 84, of Summit Hill, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024, in her residence. She was the widow of Douglas A. Paton Sr., who passed away on Jan. 23, 2009.
She was a clerk at the former Jamesway Department Store, Tamaqua.
Born in Summit Hill, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Erma (McElmoyle) Brooks. She was a graduate of Summit High School.
Edna was a member of the Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church, Summit Hill, and the Women's Group of the church.
Surviving are her children, Bonnie, wife of Joseph Pietruch of Mohrsville, Patti, wife of Michael Hudicka of Nesquehoning, Douglas Paton Jr., and his wife, Kellie, of Kingsland, GA, and Scott Paton, and his wife, Ann, of Summit Hill; a brother, Robert Brooks of Germansville; nine grandchildren, Ashley, Jessica, Joseph, Danielle, Matthew, Erin, Taylor, Justin and Robert; eight great-grandchildren, Alexander, Michelle, Sophia, Parker, Mason, Charlotte, Madelyn and Maddox; two step-grandchildren, Nina Hibbard and Anthony Hibbard; three step-great-grandchildren, Indie, Emmett and Kelton; an aunt, Elnora Clay; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial service 11 a.m. Friday, March 15, Hope of Christ Presbyterian Church, 44 W. White St., Summit Hill, with the Rev. Ruth Ann Christopher officiating. Interment, Sky-View Memorial Park, Hometown. Visitation 10-11 a.m. Friday in the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to the church, 18250. Funeral arrangements have been placed in the care of the Parambo Funeral Home, Summit Hill. Online condolences can be offered at www.parambofh.com.
