Edward Heffelfinger Obituary

Edward S. Heffelfinger, 66, of 907 N. First St., Lehighton, passed away Sunday, March 13, in the St. Luke Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the husband of Delores A. (Puza) Heffelfinger. They were married for 45 years on Feb. 23.
He was most recently employed as a greeter at Wal-Mart, Lehighton, and previously had worked in production at Ametek, Nesquehoning. He was also a self-employed construction contractor and was a co-owner with his wife of Dee's Wooden-crafts.
Born in Stoney Lonesome, Summit Hill, he was a son of the late William and Mary (Schetrumpf) Heffelfinger.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Packerton, where he served on the council.
Heffelfinger was also a member of the N.R.A., and formerly belonged to Orioles Nest 183, Lehighton.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren, and, in his spare time, pursued hobbies of wood-crafting, gardening and bowling.
Surviving in addition to his widow are two daughters, Tina Louise McHugh, and her fiancé, John Cianaglis, of Stroudsburg, and Lisa A., wife of Kenneth Rohlfing of Lehighton; a son, Edward S., and his wife, Kerry, in Texas; a brother William, and his wife, Marie, of Myerstown, Pa.; six grandchildren, two great-grandsons and nieces and nephews.
He was also predeceased by a sister, Gladys Reed.
Service: Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Interment, private. Contributions toward funeral expenses may be made to the family. Arrangements by Andrew P. Ovsak Funeral Home, Fourth and Iron streets, Lehighton. Online condolences may be offered at www.ovsakfh.com.

My father's Memorial Srvc will be Saturday, April 9th. Cemetary srvcs are at 9:30am in Summit Hill at the Grand Army Republic Cemetary. Calling hours are from 10:30 - 11:30am at Grace Luthren Church in Packerton. Services start at 11:30 am with a luncheon to follow at Grace Luthren Church, Lehighton (across from Verona's Pizza on 4th St.

To the family of Ed,

I have got to know Ed really well the last couple of years, I am a worker at the Walmart subway where Ed was employed. Everyday I couldn't wait for Ed to come in and tell me his story's, they were all funny and also taught life lesson, I miss Ed greatly and I'm sorry for the families loss.
