Wright Sr.
Rev. Edwin C. Wright Sr., 81, of Walnutport, formerly of South Colton, N.Y., passed away suddenly on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020, in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest Campus, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Arlene M. (Green) Wright. They celebrated 61 years of marr-iage on Nov. 21.
Born in Pots-dam, N.Y., he was a son of the late Clarence E. and Flora M. (Crump) Wright.
A 1959 graduate of Colton-Pierrepont Central High School, the Rev. Wright continued his education at numerous institutions, which included Canton A.T.C., Canton, N.Y.; International Corres-pondence School for surveying; United Wesleyan College, Allentown; Central Wesleyan College, Central, N.C.; Marion College, Marion, IN; United Wesleyan Church; and Pastoral Training Seminar, Montreal, Canada, prior to his ordination.
His diverse background of employment in various industries. such as automotive technology, paper, lumber, construction and surveying, eventually served as a transition to his calling and passion in serving the Lord.
From 1977-87, Rev. Wright was honored to serve Heuvelton Wesleyan Church, Cadyville Wesleyan Church, and Colton Wesleyan Church, all of New York. Prior to retiring in 1990, he was employed by Phil Collins Construction as a supervisor and surveyor.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife are five sons, Edwin C. Jr., and his wife, Tina, of Bath, Daniel T., and his wife, Sandy, of Texarkana, TX, Jeffrey S., and his life partner, Randy Sims, of Auburn, WA, James R., and his wife, Hyon, of Slatington, and Than J., and his wife, Teresa, of Lenhartsville; a daughter, Faith Welty of Walnutport; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Arnold of Potsdam and Jerry of Oswegatchie, N.Y.; two sisters, Connie Taylor of Canton, N.Y., and Susan, wife of Art Clark of Pawling, N.Y.; a sister-in-law, Petrea Taylor of Evans Mills, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also predeceased by a brother Patrick; two sisters, Mildred Fuller and Ellen Norman; and a son-in-law, Jeremy L. Welty.
Service: Due to the pandemic, Rev. Wright's viewing, church service and interment in Covenant United Methodist Cemetery, Point Phillips, will be private. Arrangements by George G. Bensing Funeral Home, Village of Moorestown-Bath. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name may be made to the Mountain View Wesleyan Church, 1001 Deemers Road, Bath, PA 18014.

I have such warm and happy memories of Pastor Wright and family from the Heuvelton days. Our youth group was a fun and loving group, the lessons learned will last a life time. I think of that time often and fondly. I am sorry for your loss , the love and memories live on.
