Eleanore C. Marcin

Eleanore C. Marcin, 97, formerly of Lansford, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2025 at Forest Hills Rehabilitation & Healthcare in Weatherly.

She was the wife of the late Michael J. Marcin, who passed away on Dec. 20, 1981.

Born in Summit Hill, she was the daughter of the late Adam and Catherine (Pascoe) Matras. She was a graduate of Summit Hill High School, Class of 1946.

Eleanore worked at the former Sears and Bright's Shoe Department Store in Lansford and last worked at Porvaznik's Flowers in Lansford. She was a former member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Lansford and current member of St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley in Summit Hill. Eleanore was a member of Secular Franciscans Holy Cross Fraternity, former member of the Blue Army and was a member of the Panther Valley Golden Agers.

Surviving is her son, George Marcin and his wife Susan of Lehighton; grandchildren, Kerri Hopkins and her husband Lee, Tara Shollenberger and her husband Josh, and Christian Marcin and his wife Breanna; seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by sons, Michael R. Marcin, David P. Marcin and infant son, Ron.

Services: Memorial Mass of Christian Burial is on Friday, Oct. 3, 2025, at 11 a.m. from St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley, 462 W. Ludlow St., Summit Hill, with the Rev. Eric Gruber officiating.

Interment will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery, Summit Hill.

Calling hours are Friday from 10-11 a.m. at the church with a Secular Franciscans Holy Cross Fraternity Service to be conducted at 10:45 a.m. Contributions, in Eleanore's memory, may be made to the church.

Funeral arrangements have been placed in the care of the Parambo Funeral Home, Summit Hill.
