Ellen Berger Obituary
Ellen "Joyce" Berger, 81, received her angel wings peacefully while being surrounded by her family and friends at her home, in Palmerton, on January 1, 2024.
She was born in Philadelphia on March 14, 1942, to the late John and Helen (Hoy) Philpott. On December 24, 2010, two hearts joined as one when she married William Berger. They were each other's soulmates and just celebrated 13 years of marriage.
She was a selfless woman whose passing will leave an unfillable gap in the hearts of her loved ones. Her ability to love, forgive, provide, and support will be forever ingrained in all she knew. She was extremely proud of her entire family and loved them dearly.
She was a lifelong bus driver, who was then moved up to Administration at the Pleasant Valley School District, where she retired. She loved all her bus drivers at the school. She loved going to the casino, playing cards, and watching NASCAR. Nothing made her happier than attending her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren's events. She loved hosting Christmas and having all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren there.
She is survived by her husband, William Berger. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her, especially her five children; Thomas Thomson, John Thomson and his wife Jane, Susan (Thomson) Kishbaugh, Michael Thomson and his wife Tena, and Leonard Smith; grandchildren who will miss her dearly, Russell Kishbaugh, Danielle (Kishbaugh) Paules and her husband Earl, Sarah (Thomson) Maneval and her husband Jeremy, Michael Thomson and his wife Amanda, Stephanie (Thomson) Walsh and her husband Joe, Samantha Thomson, Amanda (Thomson) Foti and her husband Daniel; great-grandchildren who she adored, Kailah and Kassidy Altemose, Alexis, Mackenzie, and RJ Kishbaugh, Brayden, Madison, Jacob, and Mason Maneval, and Abby and Haley Thomson. She also had two nieces.
She is predeceased by her sister, Linda Vasaturo, and brother, Frank Keen.
No services are scheduled at this time. Interment is private and at the convenience of the family.
