Forrest Handwerk Obituary
Dr. Forrest L. Handwerk, 51, of North River Street, Wilkes Barre, Luzerne County, died peacefully Wednesday evening, April 23, 2014, in his home.
Born in Washington, D.C., he was a son of the late Robert D. Handwerk and Mrs. Janice L. (Bauchspies) Handwerk of Lehighton.
Dr. Handwerk was a self-employed chiropractor in Wilkes-Barre for the last 18 years. He was a Methodist.
Dr. Handwerk enjoyed cycling, ice hockey, especially, the Wilkes Barre/Scranton Penguins where he was a season ticket holder for many years.
Surviving are his mother, brother, Derrick J. and wife, Jennifer of Lansdale, Montgomery County, nephews, Matthew R. and Jeffrey J., both of Lansdale.
Services: Graveside services at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Lehighton Cemetery, Fourth and Alum streets, Lehighton.
Contributions to the Police and Fire Memorial Fund, care of IAFF Local No. 22, 415 N. Fifth St., Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19123 or 2293 Locust Dr., Lansdale, Pennsylvania 19446.

We want to extend our sympathy to the family of Dr. Forrest Handwerk, his Chiropractic office was down the road from ours. We just learned of his passing today, and words can't express how how truly sorry we are for your loss. We will truly miss his visit at our office and his long talks about Chiropractic.

I just found out about Dr. Handwerk's passing after doing a Google search for his name. I was supposed to see him on April 21 and I hadn't heard back from him. This explains why.
In the short time I knew him, Dr. Handwerk was a very nice man. At the end of January, I was having back-neck-should pains for the first two weeks of classes of my senior year at King's College. He was very helpful in trying to help me relieve my pain. I'm just in shock right now, with the semester coming to an end.
My condolences go out to his family.

My dear cousin. All the memories that I have of us. Since we were only 10 months apart in age you were the little brother I never had.
