Mrs. Frances R. Koch
Mrs. Frances Renee Koch, 76, of Orwigsburg, died Saturday, Feb. 13, in Reading. She was the wife of Richard Lange Koch. They were married for 55 years. She retired from Manor Care, Pottsville, where she was a registered nurse. Prior to her employment with Manor Care, she worked for various area hospitals and nursing homes.Born Oct. 21, 1939, in the Lewistown Valley, where she was raised, she was a daughter of the late Claude A. and Mary (Heckman) Leiby.
A 1957 graduate of Tamaqua High School and 1960 graduate of the former Allentown Hospital School of Nursing, Frances loved playing board games, doing puzzles, knitting and crafting.
She was active with the nurses' association, ran flea market stands with her husband, and was a former Girl Scout leader.
She was a member of Zion Church of Lewistown Valley.
Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter Leslie, wife of Steven Ziegenfus of Rehrersburg; two grandchildren, Jacob Ziegenfus and Amber Ziegenfus; and several nephews and nieces.
She was also predeceased by a brother, Robert C. Leiby.
Service: Funeral service 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 19, Zion Church of the Lewistown Valley with the Rev. Jim Williams officiating. Interment, Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. Call 6-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-10 a.m. Friday in the church. Arrangements by Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 500 E. Broad St., Tamaqua. Contributions in her name may be made to The Gideons International, Box 188, Tamaqua, PA 18252. Online condolences can be offered at www.zrgfuneralhomes.com.

Dick and Leslie and Family,
So very sad and sorry to learn of Fran's passing. She was a dear lady that we will miss at auctions and flea markets. No words are adequate to express our sorrow. Praying for the Lord to comfort and uphold each of you.

My condolences to the Koch family. I had the pleasure of working with Frannie for many year at Manor Care. She was a wonderful charge nurse. (She had to be to keep us in line.)She will be sadly missed.
