Francis Botek Obituary
Francis S. Botek, 84, of Mahoning Valley, formerly of Lansford, passed away peacefully on Monday, Aug. 5, 2024, in the Mahoning Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Mahoning Township, with his loving family at his side. He was the husband of Margaret "Tootsie" (Kollar) Botek. They were married for 63 years this past Nov. 24.
Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late Stephen and Elizabeth (Leskosky) Botek.
He was a graduate of Lansford High School.
Francis owned and operated the former Botek Market in Lansford for many years and in 1964 had established the Crystal Spring Tree Farm in Mahoning Valley.
He was a member of the former St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, Lansford, and a current member of St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley, Summit Hill. Francis was most of all was a very ardent hunter and fisherman.
Surviving in addition to his widow are his children, Christopher Botek, and his fiancé, Kyra Yurko, of Mahoning Valley, Francine Botek of Bath and Alison Botek, and her husband, Stefano Carpenetti, of Lock Haven; a brother, Stephen Botek, and his wife, Ruth, of New York City, N.Y.; grandchildren, Stephen, Victoria, Ashley, Lauren, Jacob, Nicolas, Julianna and Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by sisters, Elizabeth Szuminski, Josephine Botek and Agnes Gates.
Service: Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, St. Joseph Parish of the Panther Valley, 462 W. Ludlow St., Summit Hill. Interment, St. Michael's Cemetery, Summit Hill. Call 9-11 a.m. Saturday in the church. Contributions in his name may be made to the church. Funeral arrangements have been placed in the care of the Parambo Funeral Home of Summit Hill. My sincere condolences to the Botek family. Francis was a hard working perfectionist. On his tree farm he along with his son Chris grew some of the best trees in the country. He loved hunting and being out in the wild. He loved rv-ing and going on vacations with family. He loved and took care of his family and most of all he loved God. And now Francis will be with God for eternity. We will all miss him but we all know he will be resting in peace in Heaven.

Dear Marge, Chris & Families, my sincere condolences on the passing of Francis to his Heavenly reward - I have many good memories of both Francis @ Botek's market & Crystal Springs - Used to place orders for home-made Kielbassy which I took to work in Reading - My co-workers just loved it! - The dozens of pine tree from Crystal Springs which my late wife +Alice & planted @ our W Penn home before moving to Florida, still enhance that property - Never lost any, not even one - Again, my sincerest sympathy - May Francis Rest in Peace, Requiscat in Pace, Amen!
