Francis W. 'Francie' Frantz

Francis

W. "Francie" Frantz, 86, formerly of Slatington, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025, in Fellowship Manor, Whitehall. He was the husband of Elaine L. (Mack) Frantz, whom he married July 7, 1962.

Born in Philadelphia on March 7, 1939, he was a son of the late Franklin A. and Kathryn (Machuzik) Frantz.

Francie served honorably and proudly as a member of the U.S. Navy from 1957-1959.

For 35 years, he worked on the assembly line/maintenance department of Mack Trucks. Following his retirement, he worked part-time as a funeral attendant for Harding Funeral Home, Slatington.

Francie was a faithful parishioner of Assumption B.V.M. Catholic Church, Slatington, and was a member of its Holy Name Society.

He also volunteered his time with the Northern Valley Medical Van and the Northern Lehigh Food Bank, and was a member of the Star Hose Co., Emerald.

Francie enjoyed golfing and was a member of the former Poor Man's Golf Association.

In addition to his wife Elaine, he will be lovingly remembered by sons: Marc R. Frantz, and his wife, Donna, and Corey J. Frantz, and his wife, Meredith; grandchildren, Cameron, Olivia and Louisa; nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Carol Sue Frantz.

He was also preceded in death by a brother Franklin.

Service: Mass of Christian Burial 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, Assumption B.V.M. Catholic Church, 649 W. Washington St., Slatington. Interment, private. Call 10-11 a.m. Tuesday in the church. Harding Funeral Home, Slatington, is honored to handle arrangement. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Assumption B.V.M. Memorial Fund, both c/o the funeral home, 18080.

The picture attached to his obituary is how I remember him. He was a great guy and you both were great neighbors and friends of Niki and Mike and Leauen and Ben for which we are grateful.
