Francis Rossi Obituary
Francis P. "Frank" Rossi, 63, of Tamaqua, formerly of Lansford and Bethlehem, went home to the Lord and his beloved wife on Friday, Aug. 22, 2025.
Born on Sept. 27, 1961, in Palmerton, he was a son of Olga (Allesch) Rossi of Lansford and the late Ernest F. Rossi, who died in 2016.
He was also predeceased by his beloved wife, Mary Ann (Risko) Rossi, who passed away in 2018.
Frank was a 1979 graduate of Marian Catholic High School, and a 1986 graduate of St. Luke's School of Nursing, Bethlehem.
He was a retired RN and had worked as an operating room nurse at Sacred Heart Hospital, Allentown, and the Easton Hospital.
He was a former member of the Association of Perioperative Room Nurses (AORN), a member and past president of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Bethlehem, and a member of the St. Peter and Paul Beneficiary Society Hungarian Hall, Northampton.
He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed coaching his daughter's softball teams over the years. Frank was an avid New York Mets fan and loved history and politics. He loved spending time with his grandson Jacob.
He was a long time member of the former St. Ann's Roman Catholic, Lansford, and an active parishioner at Notre Dame of Bethlehem Roman Catholic Church, Bethlehem. He was a current member of St. Peters UCC of West Penn and a member of its Adult Sunday School.
Surviving in addition to his mother are a daughter Elizabeth Marie "Liz" Potechko, and her husband, Andrew, of Tamaqua; brothers, Ernest F. "Ernie" Rossi (wife of Sherry) in Xenia, OH, and Jimmy Rossi in Lansford; a grandson, Jacob Xavier Potechko of Tamaqua; two nieces, Lauren (wife of Joseph) Shelton and Amber Rossi, both in Ohio; and many cousins and friends.
Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Thursday Aug. 28, St. Peter's Church of West Penn, 184 St. Peter's Church Road, Tamaqua, with the Rev. Cliffert Herring officiating. Interment 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, Holy Savior Cemetery, Bethlehem, with Msgr. Thomas Baddick officiating. Call 9:30-11 a.m. Thursday in the church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Robert S. Nester Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 2066 W. Penn Pike, New Ringgold.
