Franklin E. Althouse

Franklin E. Althouse, 79, of Lehighton, proud veteran of the National Guard, devoted husband of 58 years, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loving family, Monday, September 8. He was a son of the late Albert and Mildred (Green) Althouse.

His greatest pride in life was his family. He was a cherished husband to wife Starlene; father to his son Frank and daughter-in-law JoAnne; grandfather to Frankie and partner Laurel, Brittney and husband James; and "Pop-Pop" to his great-grandchildren Wyatt, Cash, Gunnar, Brynlee, Connor and Logan. He was predeceased by his stepbrother Wayne Althouse.

Frank lived life with passion, especially for auto racing. He owned multiple racecars and shared this hobby with his entire family, bonding the generations together. He also loved to spend time by the water and fish.

Known for his generous heart and deep devotion to family, he leaves a legacy of strength and shared traditions. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Services: Memorial, 7 p.m. Friday, September 12 at T.K. Thomas Funeral Home, 145 Delaware Ave., Palmerton. Call 6-7 p.m. Friday.
