Holly A. Bierman

Holly A. Bierman, 70, of Lehighton, passed away Wednesday, January 28, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest, surrounded by her loving family, after a brief, but courageous, battle with leukemia. She was the wife of Terry L. Bierman for 51 years.

Born in Palmerton on March 15, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Milford and Victoria (Bowman) Swartz.

Holly put aside her career to be a stay-at-home mom, but then worked in child daycare for more than 24 years before she "retired" to help take care of her grandchildren.

Family was everything to Holly, and she cherished time spent with hers. There were many memories made over the years during game nights, while camping, and making yearly trips to the beach. She went to every event to support her daughters and grandchildren.

She created many family traditions: annual Christmas cookie baking day, flower day each spring (in Lancaster) with her daughters, holiday meals, back to school shopping trips and countless sleepovers, to name a few. She enjoyed "milk runs" and discount shopping in Lancaster with Terry, and she was an excellent cook and baker.

Survivors: Husband; daughters Kim, wife of Mike Lusch, and Stacey, wife of Keith Hines; beloved grandchildren Noah and Madison; sister Linda, wife of Charles Bierman; a niece, nephews and cousins.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 4, T.K. Thomas Funeral Home, 145 Delaware Ave., Palmerton. Call 10-11 a.m. Wednesday.
