John Lennon Obituary

John Lennon

John Lennon, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025, in Jim Thorpe.

Born on Jan. 28, 1943, in Mountain Top, PA, John's life journey was marked by his remarkable wit, intelligence, and creativity. His legacy is one of laughter, innovation, and an entrepreneurial spirit that inspired many.

John leaves behind his beloved wife, Donna (DeFranco) Lennon, and his cherished stepson, Josh Mohn. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Harriet (Kreamer) Lennon, who instilled in him the values of hard work and integrity that he carried throughout his life. John is also survived by his sister-in-law, Anne Lennon, predeceased brother Denny Lennon, their three kids, and other family in the Virginia area.

A man of many talents, John was an entrepreneur who founded several successful businesses. His visionary approach and keen insight into the needs of the marketplace earned him respect and admiration in the business community. Colleagues, employees, and friends alike will remember him not only for his sharp intellect but also for the humor and light-heartedness he brought to every endeavor. Whenever anyone needed help, John was always there to assist. If you needed a tool, he had it or three. If you needed something fixed, John fixed it. This was the superpower of Mr. Do-It-All-Himself. His kindness, love, and skills to the town of Jim Thorpe and this world will never be seen again. The 200 Block of Jim Thorpe, let alone the whole town, will never be the same again without John. To most it will be remember as Lennon's.

His commitment to making a positive difference was evident in everything he did. He had a knack for bringing people together and making each person feel valued, a trait that made him a beloved figure in both his professional and personal circles. If you were from or lived in the small town of Jim Thorpe, there is a very good chance you knew John "Spook" Lennon.

Those who knew John will recall his quick wit, always ready with a joke to brighten someone's day. His impeccable intelligence was not just in his business acumen but also in his understanding of the complexities of the human spirit. He was a creative soul, always dreaming up new ideas and projects, and his enthusiasm was contagious.

John's life was a testament to the power of positivity and the impact one individual can have on the lives of many. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. John Lennon's memory will continue to shine brightly, reminding us all to approach life with humor, intelligence, and a touch of creativity.

A celebration of Life will be held at his "shop" and food will be served at Gaetano's Pizza on October 20, 2025 at 2pm. Family and friends are encouraged to join his family at his "shop" and Gaetano's for a time to remember John.
