John Reichelderfer Obituary

John Franklin "Jack" Reichelderfer Jr., 86, of Jim Thorpe, died Sunday, March 7, in his home, where he was cared for by his wife, Janet M. (Pantella) Reichelderfer. They were married for 14 years.
For 30 years, he was a fashion photographer in New York City.
Born in Tamaqua, he was a son of the late John Reichelderfer Sr. and Anna (Beckman) Reichelderfer.
He was a 1940 graduate of Tamaqua High School and later graduated from the New York Institute of Photography.
Upon retiring and returning to Tamaqua, he pursued his love of fly fishing. He was a renowned guide and expert fisherman, having guided many famous CEOs.
Surviving in addition to his widow is his mother-in-law, Betty Pantella.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Ursula L. (Cerine) Reichelderfer, who died in 1995.
Service: Memorial service 6 p.m. Thursday, March 11, Christ Lutheran Church, 189 Church Rd., Jim Thorpe, with the Rev. John Hassler officiating. Private interment, Odd Fellows, Tamaqua. Contributions in his name may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th Floor, New York, N.Y. 10001. Arrangements by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, 655 E. Janet & Betty, my sincere condolence on Jacks passing. I first met Jack 25 years ago at Pocono Gateway, he taught me and my mom how to tie flies.
