Joseph Pavlik Obituary
Joseph A. Pavlik Sr., 81, of Lehighton, passed into eternal rest on Monday evening, March 11, 2024, in The Manor at St. Luke Village, Hazleton. He was the husband of Mary A. (Kressley) Pavlik. They were married for 59 years on Aug. 22, 2023.
Born In Elizabeth, Union County, N.J., on Sunday, Feb. 21, 1943, he was a son of the late Joseph J. and Ruth (Mertz) Pavlik.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a business owner in the automotive repair/maintenance industry and most recently worked as a transporter for the Carbon Lehigh I-U.
An active antique/classic/race car enthusiast/mechanic, Joe was a member of the Hawk Mountain Early V-8 Ford Club and attended cruises and NASCAR racing events. He could always be found in his garage working on his cars.
Surviving in addition to his widow are a daughter, Nicole Bjorkman (Ricky), and a daughter-in-law, Sherri Pavlik, both of Lehighton; a sister, Rose Marie Behler (Barry) of Palmerton; and two great-granddaughters, Gia and Taylor.
He was predeceased by a son, Joseph A. Pavlik Jr., who died in 2018; and a sister, Ruth Ann Bobst, who died in 2021.
Service: Memorial Celebration of Life service 11 a.m. Monday, March 18, Ovsak Funeral Home, 190 S. Fourth St., Lehighton, with the Rev. Michael A. Frost officiating. Private interment at convenience of family. Call 10-11 a.m. Monday. Contributions in his name may be made to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 222 Church St., Lehighton, PA 18235.
