Joseph Rebarchak Obituary

Joseph R. Rebarchak Sr., 72, of 4143 Hollywood Blvd., Hazle Township, died suddenly early Monday morning, Oct. 1, in his home. He was the husband of Margaret "Peggy" (Dean) Rebarchak.
Prior to retiring, he was a machine operator for 30 years for Barrett-Hajentiens, Hazleton, and later worked in maintenance for the White Haven State School.
Born in Hollywood, he was a son of the late Peter and Agnes (Stashko) Rebarchak.
He was a member of SS. Cyril and Methodius parish at the Church of St. Joseph, Hazleton, where he was a Eucharistic Minister.
Rebarchak was a Navy veteran, having served aboard the USS DesMoines.
He was an avid hunter and enjoyed planting his vegetable garden.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and attended all of his grandchildren's sporting events and other activities.
Surviving in addition to his widow are two daughters, Patricia, wife of Raymond Swankowski of Coaldale, and Terri, wife of Neil Paisley of Sugarloaf; a son, Joseph Jr., and his wife, Heather, of Sugarloaf; a brother James of Weston; seven grandchildren, Sarah Nesgoda, Beth, Eric and Tyler Swankowski and Austin, Jarod and Megan Paisley; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter Barbara, who died Aug. 15, 1985; and two brothers, Peter Jr. and Carl.
Service: Funeral service 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Frank J. Bonin Funeral Home, 542-544 N. Wyoming St., Hazleton; mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m., SS. Cyril and Methodius parish at the Church of St. Joseph, Sixth and Laurel streets, Hazleton. Interment with Rite of Committal, Calvary Cemetery, Drums. Call 5-8 p.m. Wednesday.
