L. Daniel Mauger, 79, of Effort, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2021, at home.
Daniel was the loving husband of JoAnn (Mace) Mauger. They celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary in August 2020.
Born in West Chester on Nov. 4, 1941, he was the son of the late M. Stead and Doris (Kaseman) Mauger.
Daniel graduated from Shippensburg State Teachers College with a bachelor's degree and graduated from West Chester State College with his master's degree.
He taught at Lansdale Jr. High School in Lansdale, Spring-Ford High School in Royersford, and Methacton High School in Fairview Village, where he was also the director of the AV Department.
Daniel was a member of the Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Trachsville.
He was a member and past president of the West End Rotary Club. He enjoyed going camping, taking cruises and especially square dancing. He was a member of the Lehigh Valley B & B Square and Round Dance Club for 25 years.
Daniel was a mentor and Boy Scout leader. He took the Boy Scouts in Philmont Scout Ranch.
His family wrote, "We have been blessed with the presence of Daniel in our lives."
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, JoAnn of Effort; his son, Daniel N. Mauger of Effort; his daughter, Janet Snyder and her husband, Glen, of North Bay, Ontario, Canada.
He was the loving grandfather to his two grandsons, Joseph and William Snyder of Ontario, Canada.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ted Mauger.
Services: A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
